Trucks and Child Safety

TACS_logo_300dpiYou cannot put a price on a child’s life. Trucks and Child Safety (TACS) is a national safety training programme funded by the DHL UK Foundation. It aims to help keep children safe around larger vehicles on the road and targets children aged seven to 11 years old, as they start to travel independently.

DHL organises one day TACS training courses for UK employees so they can become a demonstrator; there are currently over 330 trained volunteers. Using a truck as a highly memorable visual aid, they pass on key messages regarding sight, sound and safety. Their knowledge and enthusiasm helps children avoid becoming one of over 2,300 killed on our roads each year.

Want to become a demonstrator?

If you are a DHL employee and would like to become a TACS demonstrator, please read the Overview of TACS brochure, fill in the application form and obtain permission from your line manager. More details can be found in the Downloads below. You will undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and attend a one day TACS training course.
